Privacy policy
This policy describes Daybook Personal, the iPhone app developed and operated by Brodie Lee, and this informational website. The current app is a personal build for the developer’s own use.
Google Health access
Daybook requests read-only access to health metrics and measurements from the Google account you choose. The current integration fetches heart-rate variability, nightly skin temperature, oxygen saturation and detailed heart rate, together with dates and source identifiers. It uses those records to show Air history and avoid duplicating matching Takeout imports.
Google’s official sign-in SDK handles authorization and stores its session in the iPhone’s Keychain. Daybook uses your account email and identifier to enforce this personal build’s owner-account restriction and prevent mixing histories from different accounts. Daybook does not receive your Google password.
Google Health requests go directly from the iPhone to Google. Daybook has no health-data server. It does not sell Google user data, use it for advertising, or use it to develop or train general-purpose AI models. Its use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.
Other records and optional features
With Apple Health permission, Daybook reads available sleep, activity, workouts and health measurements for its daily dashboard. You can import selected Google Takeout records into local Air history. A Bluetooth probe can receive live heart rate from an Air you select; live readings stay in memory during that session.
Reminders run locally. Widget sharing is optional and copies selected summaries into storage shared with the Daybook widget. AI briefings are optional. Before a request, Daybook shows the summary facts, notes and preferences that will be sent directly to OpenAI. No AI request runs automatically during sync. Google API and Takeout Air history are currently excluded from those briefing facts. OpenAI handles submitted information under its own terms and privacy policy.
Storage and retention
Saved health summaries, notes and Air history remain on the iPhone, using iOS file protection and app-managed backup exclusions. Google authorization is retained by its SDK until sign-out or revocation. Daybook keeps local history until you remove it. Development diagnostics may retain sync counts and status without health values or credentials.
Your controls
- Turn off automatic syncing or disconnect Google Health in Daybook Settings. Disconnecting removes the local Google sign-in and keeps saved history.
- Revoke Daybook’s Google access through Google Account connections.
- Use the Air history removal control or Delete local health data in Daybook to remove saved records. These controls do not delete the original Google Health, Apple Health or Takeout records outside Daybook.
- Change Apple Health permissions in iOS, and disable widget sharing or optional AI briefings in Daybook.
This website
The website provides app information and this policy. It has no health-data upload, account registration, advertising or app-added analytics. Hosting providers may process ordinary request information, such as IP addresses and browser headers, to deliver and secure the site. Health records and Google sign-in tokens are never sent to this website.
